A thermoforming machine is a type of equipment used to shape plastic sheets into three‑dimensional products through heat and pressure. Twin‑sheet machines heat and form two sheets simultaneously, then fuse them together, producing hollow structures such as pallets, ducts, or structural panels.Modern thermoforming machines feature advanced controls that monitor temperature, forming time, vacuum level, pressure, and cooling. Programmable logic controllers and touch‑screen interfaces allow operators to store and recall recipes for different materials and product designs. Automatic sheet feeding, stacking, and scrap handling help increase productivity and reduce labor requirements. Safety systems, such as guards, interlocks, and emergency stops, protect operators during operation and maintenance.Material selection is an important consideration when using a thermoforming machine. Common thermoplastics include PET, PS, PP, PVC, ABS, and various multilayer combinations. Each material has specific heating characteristics, forming temperatures, and cooling behaviors that must be matched with the machine’s capabilities and settings.
